Anyone who knows me knows that my day doesn’t start until I have breakfast. It’s one of those meals I genuinely look forward to the night before and I very rarely turn down a breakfast or brunch date invitation (especially if the cafe or restaurant has brioche French toast!).
Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. It has been my favorite since I was extremely little, and that’s probably because my parents spoiled me hardcore at breakfast. The Saturday tradition on weekends was either mom’s pancakes or waffles (which my dad introduced me to eating topped with ice cream and now I can’t eat waffles without ice cream). The Sunday tradition was always IHOP after church, and that Funny Face pancake dish was always my go-to. Yes, I obviously like sugar!
Tor and I don’t always have breakfast at the same time. We wake up at different times in the morning. The cats wake him up (not me for some reason) daily at 6:30 am, and sometimes he stays awake and makes himself eggs. I tend to wake an hour or so later and will make myself a bowl of oatmeal (with brown sugar and vanilla extract because, again, sugar). But some days, we will wake up at the same time and choose to go out for breakfast. We have our go-to spots in our neighborhood, but lately we have liked branching out and trying new places such as Olive & Thyme. Who says you can’t have a morning date?
I actually wore this outfit back in London in January, but we never snapped a pic (yeah, I slapped myself for that one). The good news is this gorgeous striped bow-tie cardigan is now on sale and it’s probably one of my new favorite cardigans. It was the perfect piece to wear on our morning breakfast date. There’s a also a pullover sweater with the same stripe and bow if you’re more into sweaters than cardigans.
What’s your favorite thing to eat at breakfast? Mine are: Brioche French toast, chocolate chip pancakes, and waffles with ice cream. Yes, I’m secretly 4-years old.
