Dressed for a Fall Wedding

shop the post

Autumn is one of if not the most popular wedding season of the year, so it’s time to get dressed for a fall wedding in the perfect floral dress to celebrate the bride and groom in! I have a few friends who got married in October, and nothing beats a perfect floral dress for a guest. Lighter and more pastel florals are typically worn in spring, but deeper hues of floral dresses such as crimson, violets, and magentas were meant for fall. Mixing floral with lace is another great flirty option for a fall wedding dress. Lace is very breathable, so it’ll help if you plan on shaking your booty on the dance floor all night! It’s also very feminine and very fitting for the autumn season.

While I tend to avoid white or black when getting dressed for a fall wedding (or any wedding really), it’s really up to the bride how she feels about those colors. I admit I was borderline a bridezilla when it came to colors – I didn’t want anyone wearing black (the color reminds me of a funeral) and I didn’t want anyone else wearing white other than me and my bridesmaids.

As the weather gets cooler, I typically find myself leaning more towards a maxi dress (or a gown depending on the formality of the wedding, such as this one). It keeps my legs warm, and I will never turn down the option of a good maxi dress to twirl in. While the dress I am wearing in today’s post is an older one, I am also contemplating adding this one to my closet for future weddings, as well as this one and this one. For more of a party dress, you can’t go wrong with some sequins, so I would go with this one or this one.

Hi Alyssa! Your blogs on fashion are honestly one of my favorite things to read for advice with the changing season and that in between time where it’s not summer or full autumn either! Which is your favorite season to dress for? I love winter as I love to wrap myself in my wool and cashmere jumpers and wraps!! Lovely blog story again! Thanks for all your hard work!!

Aww thank you Ariana! My favorite season to dress for is probably fall.

  2. Aurelie

I love deep-colored florals – maybe even more so than pastel ones (at least during this time of year)!! Even though I don’t have any weddings planned this fall, I would for sure wear this outfit on a daily basis too haha, so thanks for the inspiration (as always!). It feels so nice to find a blogger who has a style similar to my own.

Thank you Aurelie! I would wear this during the day too 🙂

The fence is so pretty in the background. And the dress is perfect for a fall wedding !

    – How are the home updates going ? 🙂

    • The A List

Hi Aly! They’ve stopped for now due to our crazy schedules. The biggest project requires pretty much a complete gut job downstairs and that’s too much to take on at the moment.

Thanks for featuring dresses at different price points, as a university student it is much appreciated! 🙂 Could you do a post on what to wear to a winter wedding? I’m from Canada, and as my wedding approaches guests are asking me what they should wear, I honestly don’t know!

I’ll be doing a winter wedding guest post closer to winter 🙂
