Floral Hat

As summer draws to a close (well, maybe not in Los Angeles..), I am finding all kinds of reasons to bring out some of my favorite summer accessories, such as this floral hat. This past summer season, I accumulated more hats than I typically have before because so many great styles were being featured one after the other.

Gucci hat (also available in more sizes here; I am wearing size S), Zimmermann dress (old, last seen here; similar here and here), Paul Andrew flats (last seen here; also available here), Chanel bag, J. Crew sunglasses (last seen here)

When I was living in New York City before I moved to Los Angeles, I used to have drawers full of them and the top shelf of my closet was reserved for the biggest ones. This was probably because New York has true four seasons (let's face it, southern California only has two) and I wore them more often. I'm sure you've seen some of your favorite bloggers on Instagram sporting some pretty stylish straw hats and boater hats this year. I definitely felt inspired to continue to add to my hat collection, especially with this floral hat. [gallery link="none" columns="2" size="full" ids="12992,12978"] [gallery link="none" columns="2" size="full" ids="12989,12986"] This floral hat initially caught my eye because of how feminine it is. I had been looking for the perfect summer hat that would stand out and last for years to come, and I found it. Since Torrance and I are planning an upcoming trip to South Carolina in a few weeks, you can guarantee this floral hat will be coming with me as it evokes charm. [gallery link="none" columns="2" size="full" ids="12976,12988"] There are also alternative ways to recreate this look. Take a simple straw boater hat such as this one, this one, or this one, and then wrap it with a floral silk scarf such as this one, this one, or this one. Tie the silk scarf into a little bow in the back, and ta da! Your own floral hat! Alyssa Campanella The A List Gucci Papier Floral Hat

Beautiful post! My grandmother (she is 93!) taught me to love hats and she would still wear them but she is trying to recover from a stroke a yesr ago August 20th. My husband and I moved in to care for her 24/7. We live in North Carolina almost at the South Carolina line. Where are you visiting in South Carolina? Wherever it is I hope the humidity isn’t still high like it has been….makes it awful. Ha! We hope to go to Charleston again this year. Have a lovely time!

Aww I am sorry to hear about your grandmother’s stroke.. I hope she is okay. And Charleston is the spot in SC we’d be visiting! It’s been on my bucket list for years, and now a new role for my husband’s latest television series brings us to the area so I will finally get to visit!

I’ve always loved the look of hats but at the same time had so much trouble wearing them. They look absolutely stunning on and I’m particularly fond on the one from this post.

Also as a nod towards your last post, I can’t wait until I have the oppertunity to put your travel guides to good use!

Aww thanks Halie! I used to think I couldn’t pull off hats like this, but sometimes you just need to pair it with the right outfit!

And I can’t wait to keep adding more travel guides for you to put to use 🙂

I visit your blog almost everyday, this is definitely the most gorgeous blog ever. I really enjoy reading it, please keep writing, writing and writing. 💓💓💓
By the way, do you know what camera your photographer use ? I actually wanna be a photographer, too. 😊📷

Hi Cecelia! Thank you so much for the sweet compliment and being such a devoted reader 🙂

I don’t know what camera Felicia uses exactly, but I do believe it’s from Canon. Tor and I use a Nikon D750 with 24mm, 55mm, and 85mm lenses as well as a Sony RX 100 Mark IV for landscapes and food photography.
