Recycling Favorite Pieces

If you follow me on Instagram, you'll know that I posted about this outfit last week (you'll also know that I've been battling a serious virus which evolved into bronchitis, hence the lack of posts last week - sorry!). It's been one of my favorite looks so far this season, as it features new pieces as well as recycled pieces from my closet. I love recycling favorite pieces each season as it makes each piece feel new and exciting.
Something I truly consider whenever buying a new dress or top or even a new pair of shoes is how often will I get to wear that item? If I can only picture myself finding it useful for one look, especially just one or two looks for the blog, I pass on it. Versatility is always a key factor whenever I decide to make a new addition to my closet. [gallery link="none" columns="2" size="full" ids="12145,12146"] [gallery link="none" columns="2" size="full" ids="12144,12156"] With this look, I knew this top could be a piece I could wear over and over. I last wore it here back in the fall with a white pencil skirt and heels. This time, I paired it with a pink skirt and white espadrille sneakers. It could also be worn with jeans or with overalls. I don't own shorts, but if I did, I would probably pair it with them, too! [gallery link="none" columns="2" size="full" ids="12155,12147"] [gallery link="none" columns="2" size="full" ids="12137,12140"] I'm not against wearing the same pieces twice (or three or eight times!). For those who don't already know, I look up to the Duchess of Cambridge a lot when it comes to modest yet feminine style. While her style itself as well as her choice of designers are also reasons for me to love her, I also admire that she's someone who is very much into recycling favorite pieces. Even this past weekend, she hosted a party for children and wore a dress she wore previously to another children's party back on her tour of Canada in September. As I said, versatility is key. [gallery link="none" columns="2" size="full" ids="12152,12142"] [gallery link="none" columns="2" size="full" ids="12154,12150"] What is your favorite piece to recycle?

Obsessed with this outfit! I’m totally into re-wearing pieces, too! Everything in my closet has to be super versatile! xo Devon Seventeen Dresses

Thanks, Devon!!! And yes I agree! No shame is wearing something again and again… it’s fun to re-style older pieces!
