Summer Skirt Guide

We may be halfway through with summer already (which I find so hard to believe but it's true!), but that does not mean the summer style has to die down anytime soon so today I am sharing my summer skirt guide. As you can tell from my summer style so far, this is the season I am all about the perfect skirts and dresses.

Miguelina skirt (also available in pink), Jetset Diaries top (off the shoulder version here), Raye heels c/o Revolve, Free People basket bag, Stila lipstick

My typical go-to skirt is a midi skirt. They are not long enough to be a maxi skirt but not short enough to be a mini skirt. Midi skirts also have the most "twirl power" if you get what I mean! This summer season, it seems midi skirts have become extremely popular and one of the biggest trends. I've always loved longer skirts, but as a teenager and young adult, I didn't know how to pull them off without looking three times my age. These days, midi skirt styles are so fashionable and stylish that they actually make me look and feel youthful. My summer skirt guide below is sharing all kinds of skirts that have been the most sought after this year - from mini skirts, to midi skirts, to maxi skirts. A lot of my favorite skirts this summer have been ones with pops of color as well as simple white, flowing skirts (like this one in today's post). I've also noticed a lot of floral skirts, wrap skirts, and cotton poplin skirts this year which I also love. Below I am sharing some of my favorites for my summer skirt guide.

I absolutely adore your style, Alyssa. It’s so free and feminine but just enough dash of daring that sets you apart from so many others. You have have an amazing influence to my own style, which while not quite like yours, has spread its own wings. I’ve been willing now to try those looks I’ve always loved but worried would be out of place, especially coming from a city that has a smaller diversity in fashion than what I would perhaps like. I’ve found that I don’t have to limit myself and that just because it’s not that standard look doesn’t mean that I can’t find a way to make it work. I’ve even had people tell me how much they love what I wear and admire me for it!
So thank you for maybe unintential support and the stunning inspiration.

Oh my goodness, thank you so much Halie! I am so glad you consider me an inspiration, as this is why I do what I do – to inspire all of my readers even if we don’t share the same sense of style. Always dress for you and not for anyone else 🙂

  2. Aggie

Love skirts but sadly I can’t seem to pull midi or maxi skirts off without making me look short.😱😞.

Hi Aggie! Have you tried pairing them with a wedge or a heel? I’ve also noticed pairing an off the shoulder top with a midi skirt is the best way to look longer 😉

Hey please tell me when you are going live on intagram

    • The A List

I never really know when I am going to go live… they’re usually pretty spontaneous 😉

You look fabulous in that outfit! I have never considered getting a white skirt because they tend to get dirty easily, but I’m seriously considering getting one after looking at your photos (thinking)
