Christmas at Home

Today I decided to share something other than fashion and holiday looks, but still in the realm of the holidays. I'm giving you a little peek inside our new home and how we decorated it for the holidays this year. We have major plans to gut and renovate most of our new house (which I plan to document here) after the wedding, but until then why not still go all out and get into the holiday spirit? [show_shopthepost_widget id="1278807"] I tend to go all out for Christmas. This year I held back just slightly, only because we have big plans for our new home and I will want to wait until it's all finished to add more decor. But for our new house, I got the four of us (yes, cats included!) new personalized stockings and since we now have a fireplace/mantle I decided to decorate it with garland. Growing up, we decorated our Christmas tree with homemade ornaments my mom painted and the Danish flag (glædelig jul!). Although having ornaments has proven to be quite a challenge (ahem, cats!), I would love to continue the tradition of the Danish flag on our tree. For now, in lieu of ornaments, I have decorated our tree with bows. I initially thought of putting up a Christmas village across the mantle, but in the end this garland won me over. I bought these without T knowing at first, and then he found them online and sent me the link to suggest these might be the best stocking holders for our mantle. Little did he know I already had them! They have no idea what the holiday season means except that it's a challenge for them to find their way to the top of our (fake) tree. There's a reason we cannot have a star on top! My little loves, Daenerys (top) and Renly (bottom). This will be their fourth Christmas! LOVE this post! Can’t wait to see your renovations… Will you share your inspirations for your renovations, before the actual renovations?
I love to see what gives people their idea’s/inspirations for interiors as well as their finished product.

P.S. I have those Royal Books too! ;o) And a few written about the Danish Royal family, in Danish! So I’m learning Danish, slowly…

I don’t really read blogs, but I had a look at some of your posts and couldn’t stop reading. I love this site and will definitely be looking at it regularly! I especially love these posts about decor and the ‘aisle style’ section, plus anything involving your gorgeous cats!
