A “Glamorous” Cape

If you have been following my blog and my Instagram for a bit, you'll notice one consistency - I love capes! My mom likes to tease me with the quote "NO CAPES!" from Disney's The Incredibles (the stylist to the superheroes, Edna, says capes are bad luck) because I am obsessed with them. I guess this is where the history nerd in me comes in because back in the day they did not have coats - they had capes! As the weather gets nicer, the need for a coat becomes less and less (THANK GOODNESS - no offense to coats). Instead of a jacket, I like to grab a cape instead. I love how a cape moves especially in the wind (and Toronto can get very windy!). I also love that you can either wear a tank top or a sweater underneath, it doesn't matter. I think you should have at least ONE cape in your wardrobe. It changes up your look and they are super comfortable. I love how open a cape can be. I definitely feel free in a cape, which is probably why I like them so much. Okay, maybe it's also because I am a girly-girl and they're fun to twirl in! I ended up wearing this cape from Glamorous three times while back home in LA in February and now that spring is coming to Toronto, I have been wearing it more here too. Of course my closet has several capes (told you I was obsessed), but the fabric on this one is not too heavy so I can easily wear a sweater with it without getting too warm. I highly recommend adding a cape to your wardrobe and you'll see how fun they are to wear!
