Mastering the Art of Online Shopping

Fact: Most of my closet is the result of online shopping and not in-store shopping. Don't get me wrong - I love being able to walk into a store and see items in person. But since I am always on the go, online shopping happens to be easier (and quicker). People tend to dub me and one of my besties, Chelsea (some of you may know her as Miss Nevada USA 2013 - and top 10 at Miss USA!), as the "online shopping queens." Why? Because we have learned to overcome those trust issues and master online shopping but we are also bargain hunters. Here are some of our Do's and Don't's of online shopping: DO take time to look at size charts. The sizing may be different for certain items and/or brands. DO measure yourself or know all your measurements (this includes chest, inseam, waist, hips generally). DO take model stats into consideration. For fashion, most sites will list the model's measurements to help guests get a better sense of the fit and look. DO check other designers' size charts into consideration. When you are buying an item from a company like Bloomingdale's or Asos, be sure to look up how the designer of the item you are eyeing sizes their clothing. What may be a size 6 in one brand could actually be a size 4 in another. DO create an account on sites you shop the most. You can create wishlists if you are not ready to purchase just yet, and you can store your addresses or payment plans in your account which makes purchasing easier later on. DON'T ignore popups about emails/newsletters. If it's a brand/company you frequent and love most, by all means sign up for their newsletters! You may be reluctant at the idea of having to give your email address, but you won't be so reluctant when you are emailed discounts or promo codes. DON'T skip the sale section. Believe it or not, most of my closet came from sale sections! I got my first real cashmere sweater during one of Bloomingdale's online sales plus I used a promo code as well, making that originally $200 sweater cost me just under $50! DON'T throw away the receipt or packaging right away after your purchase arrives in the mail. If you decide the item is not for you (bad fit, wrong color, etc), most brands allow you to send the item back in it's original packaging (postage is free) for a full refund. DO know what style works best for you but DON'T be afraid to step outside the box. ________________________________________________________________ Here are some of Chelsea's favorite online shopping sites: NastyGal, Asos, Lulu's, Baublebar, Possessionista, The Orchid Boutique Here are some of my favorite online shopping sites: Asos, Urban Outfitters, Zara, Madewell, ShopRuche, Bloomingdale's

Another useful site for saving money is http://www.instacrush.in . It provides great price research features as well as an online shopping destination for fashion-forward women that provide trendy skirts, shirts, kurtis, jackets, sweatshirts, tops, jumpsuits etc. at best prices.
