Velvet Dress for Date Night

As we move into winter, there's one kind of look that feels perfect for date night - a velvet dress. Every night with Tor, especially when we travel, feels like date night. While we are here in New York, we are taking full advantage of enjoying the city together whether it be one on one or with our closest group of friends in the city.

Last night, Tor and I had a date night visiting one of my favorite spots in New York. When I lived in New York City, you could always find me and a few friends at Adrienne's Pizza Bar downtown. Then when I was Miss USA and had to move back to NYC for the year, I began to take Tor here instead - just me and him. It's located on Stone Street, a gorgeous cobblestone street surrounded by a mix of both high-rise financial buildings of Wall Street and a few buildings from New York City's very beginning when it was called New Netherland (true fact, by the way!). [gallery link="none" columns="2" size="full" ids="13916,13927"] [gallery link="none" columns="2" size="full" ids="13921,13923"] [gallery link="none" columns="2" size="full" ids="13917,13922"] It was the perfect night, even if it started to rain towards the end (have you ever seen The Notebook?). Just my husband and I sitting across from each other at my favorite pizza spot, sharing a large rectangular pie and a bottle of wine as we discussed our upcoming trip to Iceland (which we leave for today!). We may have been together for 7 years, but there are many moments in our time together that feels like we are still in the honeymoon phase. And when I say honeymoon phase, I mean the kind of honeymoon phase you're in when you FIRST start a relationship. It's as if I keep experiencing falling in love with him all over again. [gallery link="none" columns="2" size="full" ids="13928,13919"] [gallery link="none" columns="2" size="full" ids="13920,13925"] As it starts to cool down, and since New York is much cooler than LA (especially at night), I find a velvet dress is the best way to dress up for date night. This velvet wrap dress is one of my favorites because I am obsessed with the colors. It's also long enough to either be worn with heels when the weather warms up, but also works well with over the knee boots as winter moves on in. It's a dress that is both classy and a bit sexy, which is sometimes hard to balance both. It's definitely the perfect date night velvet dress.

Love the dress! just wondering, do you have to ask permission and pay the locations that you shoot your photographs at? I cannot wait for photos form Iceland! Safe trip!

    • The A List

No, as it’s not commercial photography. Locations that require payment no matter what we don’t shoot at.
