Free People Summer Style

In the fall and winter, my style tends to be a bit more sophisticated. I don't really like to wear anything sheer or revealing in the winter, especially since in Toronto and New York it can get blistering cold. But once the spring and summer months come around, my style completely changes from chic and refined to bohemian and casual. I tend to flock to Free People for my spring/summer style. I hate having to wear shorts (I know "hate" is a strong word, but in this case it's true), so in the summer I stock up on maxi dresses and maxi skirts, and Free People has my favorite. Anything that drapes or flows will usually find it's way into my closet. Here are some new items for spring/summer that I am eyeing from Free People: Day Tripper Convertible Maxi: I first eyed this skirt many months ago around the holidays, but I didn't purchase it since it was still winter and I was waiting for it to go on sale (I try to wait for bargains when I can!). When I stopped by my local Free People store recently, I happened to walk into their little sale room in the back and low and behold there was the skirt - and on sale! Of course I purchased it. What drew me to it was how flowy it is and the silky fabric it is made of. I purchased it in the ivory combo.
Highs and Lows Poncho: I love a good poncho. It's loose and provides an extra layer of warmth on a cool summer night. But what I love about this poncho is also kind of looks like a cape in the back. How unique is that? Especially in the wind? I recently purchased this in black. It's currently on back order, but I cannot wait to wear it.
Wow Cardi: Cardigans are great, especially in the spring and summer to bundle up against any cool summer breezes. I really liked the idea of a long button up cardigan and fell in love with this one. I got the one in red.
First Kiss Dress: I have been eyeing this dress for some time. I adore - let me repeat, ADORE - maxi dresses. And a long sleeved maxi dress? Done. This dress is also available on Asos, but it is cheaper on the Free People site (although the amount in stock are limited).
FP Beach Long Lean Cardigan: So this cardigan is meant for the beach, but I can't help but want to wear it elsewhere too. It's very sheer and light, perfect to wear during the day.

    Hi Alyssa,

I’m wondering, are your purchasing Asos clothes and having them shipped to Toronto? There’s a big question of whether you end up paying duties on them. Do you think you could do a post on it? Thanks! Niki.

Hey there would you mind letting me know which web host you’re using?
I’ve loaded your blog in 3 different web browsers and
I must say this blog loads a lot faster then most. Can you suggest a good hosting
provider at a reasonable price? Many thanks, I appreciate it!
