My Birthday Wishes for Year 28

Hello A-Listers! It's been a while since my last blog post. I took a much needed little break after our Finland adventure and before we kick things into high gear over the next several months. With so many travels ahead, there's so much to look forward to. This weekend, I will be heading to Ireland to join Tor as he films his latest project, but first, today I am celebrating my 28th birthday! I can't believe how fast last year went. With that said, I'm sharing 4 of my birthday wishes for this new age. [gallery link="none" columns="2" size="full" ids="15829,15832"] [gallery link="none" columns="2" size="full" ids="15821,15826"] [gallery link="none" columns="2" size="full" ids="15823,15836"] [gallery link="none" columns="2" size="full" ids="15835,15828"] [gallery link="none" columns="2" size="full" ids="15838,15830"]

1. More Time With Friends

With Tor and I constantly traveling around the world, it's very easy to get homesick or even feel like you're missing out on some key moments with your dearest friends. Something we have been making more routine with our friends is a weekend game night every two weeks. We gather at someone's house and play all kinds of card/board games for hours and hours (with lots and lots of wine). We also get to catch up on things that happened during the week, and sometimes we even watch a movie (at one game night at our place before Christmas, we showed everyone the movie The Room before we all saw The Disaster Artist). So one of my birthday wishes would be to continue these hilarious game nights and stay close with our friends, maybe even every week.

2. Continue to Try New Things

This past year, I shocked my husband with how many new things I wanted to try. Whether it be a new food or a drink or even a new activity like snowmobiling, he saw me breaking out of my shell and we both liked it. I'd love to continue breaking out of my (usually well guarded) shell and try new things. I'm normally quite a shy person and I can get easily scared, but I've enjoyed getting to feel a little bit extra brave each time we try something daring. You should have seen Tor's face when I told him I wanted to try snorkeling in Iceland....

3. Get To Asia

I'm that desperate to get to Asia, which is why I have included it in almost every resolution/wish list blog post since New Year's. While we love love love Europe (and we will get to visit Europe three times before this year is half over), Tor and I are very anxious to make it across the other ocean. While traveling to Asia was on my wish list for last year when I turned 27, this time my birthday wish is much higher on the list - it's pretty much at number 1. I believe in my heart that at age 28, I will finally get to say, "Hey, I'm in Asia!"

4. Cherish What I Value Most

These days, it seems social media takes over everyone's lives. I am guilty of it too, since what I do for a living pretty much relies on it. But what I have to remember is that social media is not the end all, be all. I already limit how much I post to social media (I'm very bad with Instagram Stories when I'm at home... I do have to get a little bit better at that!), and I want to keep it that way as much as I can. Keeping some things private and being cautious not to overshare is something I want to continue doing, and being in the moment with the person I am without social media being on my mind. So one of my birthday wishes would be that I continue to cherish "offline" moments.

Goodbye 27, and hello to 28!

I think my husband would divorce me haha. Eventually I would love to adopt a dog, and later on in life our goal is to adopt some older cats who need good homes.
