Spring Yellow

One color I never thought I could pull off was yellow. I thought the only person who could really pull it off was Belle in Beauty and The Beast, and for a while I was more like Ariel from The Little Mermaid. But over time, I have tried branching out and trying different colors and I have actually come to really love wearing yellow in spring! [show_shopthepost_widget id="1496844"] I've also come to love wearing blouses under sleeveless dresses, which gives you a plethora of outfit options. Blouses with big sleeves under dresses are my favorite, since who doesn't love a little drama in their outfit? I wore this look to our first food tasting for T and I's upcoming wedding (which will be a future blog post!). I love the look, and such a lovely happy color too. I’ve been thinking of adding a similar style blouse under a black and white palm print dress I bought last year. I love the dress but with no sleeves and an exposed area on the back it’s never really warm enough in London to wear it. I’ll have to try it with a blouse and see!

It’s all about finding that perfect shade of yellow for you isn’t it! An older English teacher of mine took me to have my “colors done” some time ago and I was thus assigned the “color season” of Winter due to my olivey skin undertone. As such, I might try an ice yellow but everyone is different.

I love this outfit! I especially love how you layered the blouse and the dress…I’m definitely going to have to try that!

You make me want to wear more dresses! I never wear them without opaque tights because I’m self conscious about how pale I am, but you look so lovely that you make me want to bare my fair legs as well!
