French Revolution

It's been a bit since my last post! Since I last posted, I traveled to New York for Fashion Week. Fashion Week is a lot like the holidays - you prep and prep and there's so much anticipation, and then in the blink of an eye it's over. [show_shopthepost_widget id="1410888"] Fashion Week is really a time to stand out and express your own style amongst a sea of other influencers, bloggers, and fashion writers. It's actually quite interesting to see how my own style has evolved after each Fashion Week season. I started off in simple dresses and a monochromatic collection of pointed toe pumps. Since then, and especially since I opened my fashion blog two years ago, I'd learned a lot more about who I am and what my style is. I decided to be a bit more bold this Fashion Week season, not just for the shows but also for all my meetings in the middle of it all. I ended up wearing this military jacket twice because I was in love with the buttons and the pops of red at the cuffs. It's no secret I am a history buff, so to feel very French Revolution-esque was right up my alley. For this look I wore it like a blazer with a lace shirt and let the lace billow out under the cuffs, but for the second look I wore a simple white blouse underneath that tied at the neck and treated it as my only jacket. That's how versatile this piece was! Gloves weren't originally a part of this look, but New York was FREEZING last week and if you didn't wear gloves then you were at risk for frostbite! Now that Fashion Week is over, T and I will be traveling abroad for a couple of weeks. Where do you think we are going? I will give you a hint - my history love will come into full play once again. *wink wink* Jacket: The Kooples (also available here) | Boots: Stuart Weitzman | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff | Shirt: Alexis | Scarf: Nordstrom | Coat: ASOS (old, similar here) Alyssa Campanella The A List Blog Miss USA 2011 New York Fashion Week The Kooples Military JacketBS8A5959sAlyssa Campanella The A List Blog Miss USA 2011 New York Fashion Week The Kooples Military JacketAlyssa Campanella The A List Blog Miss USA 2011 New York Fashion Week The Kooples Military JacketAlyssa Campanella The A List Blog Miss USA 2011 New York Fashion Week The Kooples Military JacketAlyssa Campanella The A List Blog Miss USA 2011 New York Fashion Week The Kooples Military JacketAlyssa Campanella The A List Blog Miss USA 2011 New York Fashion Week The Kooples Military JacketAlyssa Campanella The A List Blog Miss USA 2011 New York Fashion Week The Kooples Military JacketAlyssa Campanella The A List Blog Miss USA 2011 New York Fashion Week The Kooples Military JacketAlyssa Campanella The A List Blog Miss USA 2011 New York Fashion Week The Kooples Military JacketAlyssa Campanella The A List Blog Miss USA 2011 New York Fashion Week The Kooples Military JacketAlyssa Campanella The A List Blog Miss USA 2011 New York Fashion Week The Kooples Military JacketAlyssa Campanella The A List Blog Miss USA 2011 New York Fashion Week The Kooples Military Jacket [show_shopthepost_widget id="1410888"] Photos by Iva Kozeli

I am actually in love with this outfit so much, it’s unreal. In fact, I included it in my top 5 favorite NYFW street style looks in my blog post here: http://www.emilyseye.com/?p=1072. If you could check it out and leave a comment, that would be amazing.
    Thanks!
