The Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookie

Growing up, my favorite treat my mother would make was her chocolate chip cookies. When I moved to New York at age 17, and during my reign as Miss USA, I would visit her on weekends and she would send me back to the city with a jar of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies (The Miss Universe Organization began expecting me to bring some cookies over to the offices whenever I returned from her house!). When I bake my chocolate chip cookies, I always aspire to have them look and taste just as incredible as my mother's. But she won't reveal her secret ingredients to me just yet, so after some trial and error I have come up with my own secret ingredient for delicious chocolate chip cookies (My mom and I even had a bake off one time when she visited me in Los Angeles, and T tried each of our chocolate chip cookies. But ever the gentleman, he said he loved both.)!
Ingredients:
 - 2 sticks unsalted butter
 - 1 cup brown sugar (it's called yellow sugar here in Canada)
 - 1/2 granulated sugar
 - 1 egg
 - 1 egg yolk
 - 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
 - 1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
 - 3/4 cup graham cracker crumbs - 1 teaspoon baking powder
 - 1 teaspoon kosher salt
 - 1 teaspoon baking soda
 - 1 bag mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
 - 1/2 bag white chocolate chips (optional)
Preheat the oven to 325F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper. In a mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugars until smooth and creamy. Add the egg and egg yolk one at a time and mix. Add the vanilla and mix. Chocolate Chip Cookies Jumpers & Jasmine In a separate bowl, mix the flour, graham cracker crumbs, salt, baking soda, and baking powder. It's okay if the cookies look slightly undone because they will continue to bake out of the oven on the baking sheet. Let cool. YUM!

These look so delicious! Graham cracker crumbs sound like an interesting addition. I am making these tonight.

Do you know an alternative for the graham crackers? I’ve never seen them in Belgian supermarkets.

Try with Kellogg’s cereals crumbs 😉

For the very first time in my life I really, really, really like something I cooked. My friends usually enjoy my cakes, but I don’t. These cookies, instead, came out utterly delicious.

I owe you a heartfelt Thank you. Grazie mille ♡♥♡

P.S. Tip for those who can’t find the graham crackers crumbs: try to “chop” Kellogg’s cereals 😉
