Fall Wedding Guest Attire

One of my lovely readers asked me to do a post offering suggestions of what I felt were stylish, appropriate, and in season for a fall or a winter wedding. While spring/summer weddings like to use a lot of creams, florals, yellows, and pinks, fall/winter weddings seem to feature deeper colors such as navy, blues, purples, and black but also more metallic colors as well. My sister is actually getting married this winter, so I am drawing inspiration from what I would want to wear to my sister's upcoming nuptials (if I wasn't the Maid of Honor!). Here are some of my personal favorites for a fall wedding: [show_shopthepost_widget id="217316"] You can never go wrong with a simple embellished black and white maxi dress. For a more upscale wedding, you could try an off the shoulder dress with heart patterns (how cute and appropriate is that for a wedding?!) or a multi-layer lace gown (I'm OBSESSED with that gown by the way). This red strapless flare dress and this strapless dark green maxi dress are also perfect for more upscale events. I absolutely love the statement the origami bow makes on this strapless navy blue dress, and I absolutely love the patterns on this multi-colored dress (I have actually tried this dress on before and it's the PERFECT party dress!). Currently, my favorite wedding website is BHLDN (Anthropologie's sister site) and I adore this navy cocktail dress and this deep grey gown. I also love the idea of bringing along a shawl just in case it's a chilly day (and luckily it comes in great wedding colors that go with almost every possible outfit). And finally, you could also step outside the box and try a simple chic navy jumpsuit for a fall or winter wedding. Here are some ideas for accessories: [show_shopthepost_widget id="217320"]

Thank you so much Alyssa! This post gave me so many ideas, I really appreciate you taking the time to do it. I love the variety of suggestions you offered. Before I felt as if my options were VERY limited and I couldn’t even really conceive an outfit to wear to a Fall wedding. Now thanks to you, I know I have lots of options that are sophisticated and fun. I will definitely be purchasing two of the dresses you mentioned in this post. You have exceptional taste, thanks for sharing it!!!
