Fourth of July Style

When you think of Fourth of July style, of course the colors red, white, and blue come to mind. This year, we'll be spending Fourth of July up in Canada but that didn't stop me from reflecting a little patriotism into my style.
When I think about Fourth of July style, I usually think of blue and white stripes with a strong red lip and red accessories. I couldn't pass the chance to don layers of ruffles, as ruffles have been a huge trend this year, so I paired a ruffle white shirt with one of my favorite skirts of the season. I'm also a fan of red and white stripes too, particularly dresses such as this one and I LOVE this one (and it's on sale!). The beauty about all of these pieces is they can be worn all summer long. [gallery link="none" columns="2" size="full" ids="12557,12556"] [gallery link="none" columns="2" size="full" ids="12572,12548"] Our Fourth of July plans vary every year. One year, I'd love to one day gather a bunch of friends and rent a cabin somewhere in California or even Montana or Idaho. This year, we'll actually be in Canada and visiting a part of British Columbia I have yet to discover (which I am really excited about!), but we won't be far from the US border so I am expecting to see some fireworks from a distance. This year I didn't get that chance, as we were traveling. Next year, I plan on making an elaborate flag cake from my own recipe. Where else in Canada do you and Tor want to visit? I can’t recommend Quebec City enough (looks like Europe) and Banff is amazing as well (the Banff Springs hotel is practically a castle, I’m going there for my honeymoon!) There’s not much to see here in Manitoba unless you go North: polar bears and whales galore!

Quebec is on our list and Banff is on mine, sadly we will get to neither on this trip 🙁 But I am dying to go!

You look so pretty! 😀 Love the outfit, wish I had the confidence to wear it. (I wear nothing but jeans and long pants, unless I have tights or leggings on under a skirt/dress.) Have you and Torrance been to Victoria? That’s the only place I got to go when I was in Canada during a cruise, ended up just seeing the sights from the front of a horse-drawn carriage…my grandparents insisted I go with them and their friends instead of joining a pub tour, so I ended up in the front with the very cool driver, she made sure I enjoyed myself 🙂

Thank you, Christle! We actually head to Victoria tomorrow! I am so excited! Your trip sounds like it was fun 🙂

I hope you have a great time there! 😀 I wish I had gotten to see more of it, but we were only there for a few hours before getting back on the ship and heading home. What I saw was absolutely beautiful, though…Apparently there’s a great place to have tea in the Fairmont Empress hotel, if you’re interested in that kind of thing 🙂 They were closed when we went, but that was about a decade ago…

To say that you are absolutely gorgeous and your outfits are always so pretty and put together, that is an understatement. Your hair is always so simple and natural which I really like. However, when it comes to your face, I wonder whether you put any makeup on, on a daily basis (when you are going out or shooting for the blog) or you are simply flawless and you needn’t put any effort to your face at all. I have checked your skin care favourites, but I am actually curious about your beauty routine at this case. Well it is obvious that in this post you are really pulling off the red lip and it suits you perfectly, but at all the other posts on The A List, your face looks so natural and effortless. If you find time, I think it would be very exciting to see a beauty post, since your recents posts have all been about outfits and travels (not that they are not fun to see), but as a loyal supporter of this blog, I would really love to see a beauty post out of curiosity, or you can let me know on the comments about your everyday makeup routine. 🙂
Happy Fourth of July! Hope you have an amazing time in Canada.
    Sending love from Albania🌹

Hi Klea! Thank you so much for the sweet compliments! I would be glad to do an everyday beauty routine post. You are correct in which I tend to wear my makeup naturally, as I find heavy makeup exhausting. I’m glad you like it!

And those bold sunnies! Happy 4th!

I can’t wait to read all your Victoria daytrip ! xx

    • The A List

Hi Chloé! Do you mean a denim pinafore dress? I’d be happy to find one for you!
