Fashion In Modern Day Reign

Castles. Gowns. Knights. Balls. Thrones. Queens. Crowns. Romance. Even though only 0.1% of people in the world today are actual royalty and it's the year 2014, who says we can't bring a bit of European Renaissance and the Stuart era into the twenty-first century and 1be our own royalty? (Did you think I wasn't going to do one Reign related post? I will tell you upfront now that I will never share what happens behind the scenes or spill any spoilers, but that doesn't mean I can't indulge you in a little Reign fun!)

After we are done gawking at Francis, Bash (obviously my fave), and Mary on the hit CW series Reign, we are attracted to something else that we are seeing on screen in every scene - the costumes! Those dresses and those headpieces.. oh why do we not dress like this anymore? Sure we could do without the tight corsets, but the flowing gowns are too beautiful and whimsical to ignore! I will admit that I have always walked past the

Reign-4

costume trailer when I visit the set but I never step inside. I don't trust myself. You wouldn't either.

Luckily, there is a way us ladies of the 21st century can bring a little 16th century into our wardrobe (without stealing from the costume trailer and getting arrested). After doing a little searching, there are Kissesaffordable ways to dress and accessorize like the girls on Reign!

Don't forget to watch Reign on Thursdays at 9 pm on the CW! (And on Wednesdays at 8 pm on M3 in Canada)

Note: Not a sponsored post.

I love this post! Reign is one of my favorite shows and I’ve always been obsessed with the beautiful gowns they wear! I’m excited to know that there is somewhere I can buy clothing and accessories to make me feel like I’m channeling that era. Keep up the good work Alyssa!

This has made me soo happy! You have enabled the historical side of me! I feel like I live and breathe history on a daily basis studying it in university, so why not throw in another aspect to my passion. 🙂 Thank you!!!

A behind-the-scenes peek from a fellow fan! I can’t wait to see what fun adventures you can take us all on! Plus, I hear you’re a history buff in real life, too, and that added aspect can be fun, too!
