Hello Spring!

Hello Spring, indeed. Although I am hoping this post will help encourage the warmer weather to stay in Toronto! My birthday was last week (thanks for all the well wishes, by the way!), and it falls on the first full day of spring. I know spring technically starts on March 20, but it doesn't start until around 6 in the morning so March 21 is the first full day of spring. It happened to be brutally cold, despite sunny, on my birthday with wind chills that made you feel like you were being punched by icicles. However, even though it was super cold, I did awake to beautiful songs by birds outside - a rarity in downtown Toronto. But a few days before, Mother Nature gave us a sneak peek of what's to come (hopefully) soon. I really enjoy springtime in Toronto. Suddenly restaurants set up all their outdoor dining tables and chairs, making me realize there are more restaurants in Toronto than I thought (it's like they all go into hibernation for winter).Once the weather starts to turn nice, suddenly I want to walk everywhere (sorry, Uber). Even the 5-block trek to the supermarket doesn't sound so bad when the temperatures are more bearable. On the day Mother Nature teased us, T and I went for a nice little 20 minute walk. It felt so nice not being bundled up like Eskimos. I wore a navy turtleneck sweater, black jeans, and my latest obsession - this multi-colored jacket from French Connection. How awesome is this jacket? I first saw it online months ago and knew I needed new pops of color in my wardrobe for spring. I am obsessed with the sleeves. They kind of remind me of a fairy tale princess gown, and since I am such a girly-girl no wonder I was drawn to it! I paired this outfit with another French Connection obsession - black heeled boots - and a black clutch.
